been wanting to post a link to this site for ages already. i guess now’s the time.

garfield minus garfield

Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness in a quiet American suburb.

i think it’s a brilliant idea – but kinda sad. you’ll feel sorry for jon arbukle after a while. poor guy.

How to sleep at work

July 19th, 2008

Today (tonight) starts my two day night shift work here at the office. It’s not so bad really. It’s just that since I only had one day to move my body clock from morning to night (and only another day to move it back), I’m already a bit sleepy… and I still have 10 more hours to go.

I could use some of these right now.

Inspiration comes of working

Engrish still continues to get lots of attention from native english speakers. With good reason of course – since some of them are really funny. And what makes it even better is that it’s not even trying to be funny.

But what initially seemed to me as random words, phrases and sentences put together – err – randomly (new word: “drabble”). Examining closer, I found that it’s actually quite deep – and rich with simple, practical, and almost zen-ish philosophy.

Imagination is more important than knowledge

Imagination is more important than knowledge

The purpose of human life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help others. Creativity is the ability to introduce order into the randomness of nature. Life is an exciting business and most exciting when it is lived for others. You cannot do much about the length of your life, but you can do a lot about its depth and width.

hmmmm…. lalim mehn.

That does it.
Nix, India’s on our Must-Visit List.

Seriously Badass.

I’d be very disappointed if this is just another viral video. On a side note, I noticed that Adele’s Chasing Pavements was playing on the car radio.
